Born and raised in Tennessee, Gabe Dixon began playing keyboards professionally before he was even in high school. By age 18, Dixon moved to Florida to study classical piano at the University of Miami, where he launched the Gabe Dixon Band with his roommate Jano Rix, who later joined The Wood Brothers.
